In partnership with the Dutch Embassy in England, British municipalities, Brittish bicycle campaign groups and our participant Royal HaskoningDHV, the Dutch Cycling Embassy organizes a series of conferences and design workshops in 4 British cities.
Bristol Love Cycling Go Dutch Workshop
On October 15, Dutch Cycling Embassy organized a design workshop for some 25 Bristol traffic officers and planners. The Dutch principles of bicycle inclusive planning were explained and implemented for routes and access to Temple Meads railway station.
This resulted in new (sketch) designs for the busy Temple Gate and some interesting options for bicycle routes at Temple Meads. The workshop was led by Marjolein de Lange from the Dutch Cycling Embassy and Wim van der Wijk from Royal Haskoning. In addition Natasja Boekel from Jan Kuipers bicycle parking systems gave a presentation about bicycle parking.
The report of the workshop will be available here shortly.
Bristol Love Cycling Go Dutch conference
The day after the workshop, October 16, a conference on bicycling was held at Bristol town hall. With over 100 participants and speakers from both the Netherlands and the UK the conference was a great success. The Dutch Cycling Embassy organized the Dutch experts for the conference and were speakers in the workshops and panel discussion.
