Services to US cities will broaden
The programme of cooperation with the Netherlands Embassy in the US, the Dutch Cycling Embassy and the Bikes Belong Foundation will become broader.
The Bikes Belong Foundation is the non profit arm of the Bikes Belong Coalition, the national coalition of bicycle retailers and suppliers working to put more people on bikes more often. The foundation operates as a charitable organization and focuses on Bicycle safety projects and Children’s bicycle programs. One of their programs is the Green Lane Project, a campaign hosted by the Bikes Belong Foundation to catalyze the creation of world-class bicycling facilities in the U.S.
For the 4th year, 4 cities will be selected by the Netherlands Embassy for a Think Bike workshop. In 2012 these workshops were linked to the Green Lane Project and the yearly excursion to the Netherlands organised by Bikes belong. In 2013 again 3 cities will be invited for this excursion to the Netherlands. On top of that, a more structural support to a core group of front runner cities will be set up, supported by internet facilities. Other cities might participate in transfer of expertise at their own costs.
